ASX eyes gains as Wall Street moves higher

Stocks edged higher in afternoon trading on Wall Street, continuing a strong streak that has brought seven straight weeks of gains. The S&P 500 was up 0.5 per cent. The Dow Jones rose 8 points, or less than 0.1 per cent. The Nasdaq rose 0.6 per cent. The Australian sharemarket is set to rise, with futures at 5.06am AEDT pointing to a jump of 9 points, or 0.1 per cent, at the open. The ASX dipped by 0.2 per cent on Monday.
